Setting up Raspberry Pi 7″ Touchscreen Display

This post is intended to help Raspberry Pi users to interface the new Raspberry Pi 7″ Touchscreen Display.

Follow these simple steps and experience the new Raspberry Pi 7″ Display.

Various components included in the kit are:

1. 7″ Touchscreen Display

2. Display ribbon cable

3. 4 x Jumper wire

4. 4 x stand-offs

5. 4 x screws

6. Adapter board

Setting up Raspberry Pi 7″ Display

Step 1:

Connect the display to the back of Adapter board

Step 2:

Lie the adapter board onto the back of the display

Step 3:

Fix the adapter board into the back of display with 4 x standoffs

Step 4:

Connect the touch screen ribbon cable into J4 of adapter cable

Step 5:

Connect 5V and GND pins of adapter board to red and black jumper wires respectively.

Step 6:

Attach the DSI ribbon cable to adapter board

Step 7:


Place the Raspberry Pi over 4 x standoffs

Step 8:

Fix the Raspberry Pi with 4 x screws

Step 9:

Connect the DSI ribbon cable to Raspberry Pi

Step 10:

Connect pin-2 and pin-6 of  Raspberry Pi to red and black jumper wires respectively16

Step 11:

Download and install the latest version  of Raspberry Pi Operating system.

Step 12:

Update the system with the terminal command
sudo apt-get update

Step 13:

Upgrade the system with the terminal command
sudo apt-get upgrade

Step 14:

Reboot the system with the command
sudo reboot.

Step 15:

Your touch screen display is Ready. Get ready to for Raspberry Pi Touchscreen experience
